Issued in 2004, this four-coin set includes four denominations of the Britannia coin: £100, £50, £25 and £10. Only 1,250 of these sets were made, making them highly collectable.
The obverse features Ian Rank-Broadley’s portrait of Queen Elizabeth II, while the reverse shows Philip Nathan’s iconic Britannia design. Britannia first appeared on the coins of Emperor Hadrian nearly 2,000 years ago. Restored to British coinage in 1672 during the reign of Charles II, Britannia has appeared on the coins of every subsequent monarch.
